Deceptive Journalism
From the "a.k.a. Not News" department:
On the front page of CNN is a story of a Vermont teen vanishing into thin air. Intriguing, I read the story, but was bothered by something about it. Partway through, it dawned on me that the disappearance happened over three years ago.
Now, I'm not saying it's not a good idea to have these so-called "cold cases" available on the website, but it's downright misleading to embed the story between actual headlines of current and timely new news articles.

Google News and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel made one billion dollars worth of stock evaporate by automatically posting a 2002 story to the "Top News" page in Sept. 2008, because somebody was looking at the archives in the middle of the night.
