It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses an "I" or a "U"

Turns out that a primitive South American tribe of hunter-gatherers has no word to express precise numbers.

You've probably heard of these folks. Their number system goes "1, 2, many", but some careful linguistic research shows that "one, two, many" is more like "a few, more than a few, plenty". I wonder what it would mean to teach simple arithmetic to these people.

Something tells me we'd have a Pigeon Egg Strategy on our hands, big time.

And that, dear Rutledge, would be like mixing orange juice and chianti.
