Is Being Drunk and "Slutty" Empowering?
Chez Pazienza asks the important question: is being drunk and "slutty" empowering? He prefaces the word "slutty" with irony quotes; I wouldn't.
Based on the antics of one of the girls you can plow regularly in GTAIV, the game has left me with a very sorrowful feeling that shallow, self-absorbed women like this really exist. Furthermore, I regret that there's no legislation on the books that can help them, or at the very least consign them to isolated reservations of land where we can safely ignore them while they ramble impotently about how important their eraser-sharp witticisms are to an always-on content-based Internet populace. I have the luxury of turning off the Xbox 360 when I've had enough of her shit, but apparently there are real women out there who think and act like having a website is some kind of entitlement, and that spending all your time writing about how drunk you get and who you've just banged is somehow liberating. I am phenomenally grateful that I'm just learning about this now, so that I can put down the browser, play a little Super Mario Bros., and forget the whole thing.
