Slashdot: Lost Footage of "Metropolis" Found: "According to a Reuters article, a long version of Metropolis has been found at a cinema museum in Argentina, by a newly appointed archivist. The reels have been authenticated by the Murnau foundation at Germany."
I was delighted — delighted to hear that there was a Murnau Foundation in Germany. That is four or maybe five kinds of awesome right there.

Yeah, the Murnau foundation's a pretty big deal in German film. It's pretty cool that they found another hour and a half of the film, but it looks like it's going to be a while before they can repair the print enough to be shown.
