Long Tall Weekend
It's been a very nice few days off of work. It began with the revelation that Valerie Lewis reads my blog. Hot. Her U.S. history is a little weak, but we can forgive her of this, what with her being a Quebecois and all.
On July 4 we toured the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery and grilled spicy chipotle buffalo burgers. The fireworks from Gas Works Park were lovely in HD.
On July 5 we bussed to the Seattle International Beerfest, where twenty bucks gets you good and tipsy. I can't recall all the beers I had, and when you're sharing your selections with three of your friends, names and Eisbocks and cask-conditioned this-or-thats all start to blur together. We sobered up just in time to enjoy Buca di Beppo at Dona's place and talk gold futures with her husband, who is an incredibly cool fellow.
Today is going to be spent reading up on concurrent programming, goofing off in a helicopter in GTAIV, and optionally going to get the traditional Sunday sandwiches. Hopefully Peet's Coffee and Tea will have some teabags in stock so I can try to make sun tea soon. I could almost call this kind of thing "recovery".
