On Verbal Mannerisms

I'm trying to reduce my use of the word "basically", in verbal and in written communication.

Basically, I would use this word frequently. Too frequently. It would be so common that I'd basically put it into any part of the sentence and it wouldn't modify or improve the meaning of that sentence.

So from now on, I'm trying to only use "basically" when I mean it. As in, "you're basically fucked", or "the Eiffel tower is basically the world's biggest lightning rod".
