On Life in a 1st World Country in the 21st Century

I listen to podcasts, one of them being "The Geologic Podcast" by George Hrab, an eastern Pennsylvania-based musician/nerd/athiest/workout freak who loves shows like "Survivorman" and detests the trumped up stunts that Bear Grylls does on "Man vs. Wild".

He also has a thing for science, in case the title of his podcast wasn't enough of an indication.

For the last three weeks, he's been doing a song for every element in the periodic table. And it's great. The songs are short and quick and non-repetitive, but he's making mistakes.

At one point, he states that Beryllium's atomic weight is 4. He also pronounces element 42 as "molly-den-dum".

But it's still great. It's great because it's 2007 and I'm enjoying listening to a guy make basic chemistry mistakes in song instead of, you know, stabbing at wooly mammoths or trying not to die of the Plague.

These are wonderful times we live in, my friends.
