On Petty Crime

Erica's mom was kind enough to swing by today and give us an electric blanket. Unfortunately, she took the receipt but left the anti-theft device on it, so we can't exactly get to it inside its packaging. We can't exactly take it back to the store because it was already 8 o'clock by the time I got home and I'm on-call tonight, to boot.

We could cut the bag, of course, but that would be all too easy.

Instead, Erica and I have decided to freeze the ink capsules inside, which, considering the weather, should be a piece of cake. In a few hours we'll head back outside, grab the blanket, and smash the hell out of that little plastic thing.

It's kind of an adventure, because maybe it will work and maybe it won't. Either way, we're in for something memorable.
