Update

Went home to PA. Came back. Sister's lost about 60 lbs., looks great.

Sorted through some cardboard boxes filled with my childhood and figured out what could be tossed and what could be archived in an attic for the next few decades. That was depressing.

Overall a very nice trip. Definitely not long enough.

Came home, found that when my router died last week after Time Warner renumbered my IP that the DHCP server didn't come back up and that as a result my lease on the mail server had expired.

Boo. There goes my new record uptime: 412 days, 3:45 hours. A few hours later, I wondered why the hard drive light was still acting up. Good thing I checked: the Codeville service was having a conniption about format numbers. If I hadn't fixed it tonight, I probably wouldn't have noticed for a few more weeks. Now I'm wondering about the utility of a basic monitoring script to hook into my nightly system status report, as the death of dhcpd and Codeville marks a disquieting trend in server recoverability.
