NORAD + Santa, what's the deal?

It started over 50 years ago that somebody accidentally set it up so that instead of calling Santa, kids could dial up NORAD for Christmas.

Fortunately for us, it's now tradition to watch the elf over the Internet as he makes his way around the world, even if the sheer difficulty of such a task would mathematically demand he be incinerated at that velocity.
