Take my place talking beer w/ GLBC?
The writing is remarkably clear as the night progressed except for that last question, written to Justin in a noisy room regarding "talking beer", that looks like a five year old wrote it in a hurry.
These notes were taken on the night of the annual Cleveland Free Clinic charity event, the Microbrewery Extravaganza: 50 bucks gets you a wristband and as much beer as you can drink from seven different northeastern Ohio breweries. Erica, Justin, and I had a blast. There was drinking, dancing, and some really nice deserts. I would have liked to have tried the chicken, but the buffet didn't last nearly as long as the beer did, which is a twist.
We hung out with Scott from Rock Bottom (easily the nicest brewer among the bunch) and found at that Matt Cole from RRBC thinks that the excellent turnover of his beers comes at the steep cost of uncomplex, immature flavors.
The band was local staple Punch the Clown, who we've seen before and who did a variety of respectable covers, none of which I can actually recall now in my sober state, but I distinctly remember heading to the front of the dining room and cutting a little bit of a rug with Erica at one point, so you know I had to be completely smashed.
At the end of the night I'd experimented with Red Bull a bit before stumbling back to Steve's place to pass out watching The History Channel in one of his oversized chairs. I'd end up running down the battery on both my cell phone and my laptop before 9 AM the next day, which is awfully bad behavior to come from someone who was, according to my notes, on-call that night.
Shhh. That's a secret.
