Auto-MARP-y
I hesitate to use the term "auto MARP", because it's something I just made up, but a neat feature of the Nortel Meridian Option 11C of which I was not aware until today is the ability to reassign an extension's MARP automatically, even if the number is shared on different types of sets (a 500 and a 2616, for instance).
In this case, I wanted to swap two extensions between a 500 and a 2616, which involved briefly doubling up the extension. (I didn't want to lose the 500's setup, so I moved it to an unused unit and then finished by doing a "CPY 1" then an "OUT". Until then, one extension was both on the temp TN and the 2616's KEY 00 SCR. I know. Slap my wrist.) When I finally OUT'd the temp TN, the system automatically noted the loss of the MARP and transferred it to the only remaining unit with that same extension.
Sweet.
[This entry made sense to, at most, three people. In the world. Sorry.]
