TIME.com: Why Gas Won't Get Cheaper -- May. 09, 2005
Time Magazine has an interesting article regarding the newest opening of Americans' eyes to the coming oil crunch. I won't vouch for its accuracy, but the basic theme is "oil is going to get a lot more expensive, but that's OK." No, no it's most certainly not going to be OK.
The good news is that it spells out rather clearly why oil prices do not equal gasoline prices and thus why, when oil drops to under $50/barrel, you aren't suddenly paying $1.59/gallon at the Sunoco the next day.
A good read, but not nearly horrifying enough to shock the typical American magazine reader into, oh, I don't know, maybe selling that fucking SUV in your driveway.
