I Prefer

I prefer Azureus 2.1.04 to the newer, allegedly "better" 2.2.0.0.

I prefer NetTransport 1.87 to 1.91 and up. It may have a serious memory leak, but at least it doesn't nag me to buy the software every fifteen minutes.

I prefer OpenBSD 3.6 over its older iterations, but I prefer the 3.2-style CD case where the discs physically reside. I finally got my 3.6 CDs in the mail today, and every single disc was loose inside the case because all but one little plastic tab in the middle that secures the discs in place had snapped off. Fortunately, I don't buy OpenBSD CDs to have the CDs. I'm paying for discs because the OpenBSD team needs and deserves my support. If shoddy plastic cases become the norm, I'm not buying them. As if loose discs jiggling around in my mailbox were bad enough, I put CD2 into my CD player to listen to the new song that comes on every release. Halfway through, it started skipping! That's lame. To quote Rorschach, "You made me look like an ass in front of my girl."

I'd prefer to just donate a dollar amount equal to the cost of a CD set to the OpenBSD project from now on and keep a local FTP copy updated through rsync or some such.

I'd prefer to ignore Theo's constant complaints that the quantity of FTP installs is astronomical and CD sales are slumping. You'll get my money, Theo, but if your CDs are going to be shitty, keep them to yourself.

I'd prefer not to speak ill of the world's most proactively secure operating system, but these things must be said.

I prefer network installs to CD installs anyway.
