Carnitas con Frijoles y Guacamole, Por Favor

After taking a couple of weeks away from the rowing machine at the gym, I woke up early, set a Vista x64 SP1 slipstream running, and got right back in the saddle with a vengeance. The good news is that I annihilated my old /500m split time record, averaging 2:06, but I couldn't maintain that pace for 1500 more meters and ended up with an average split time worse than if I'd paced myself like I normally do.

So it goes. Rowing is more about endurance than sheer strength, and there are things a rowing machine does that an elliptical never will. Nature is balance.

Monk blows my mind this morning with a cover of the Jem theme song as performed by Freezepop. My head asplode.

I am now patiently waiting for a 3+ GB ISO download to finish since the slipstream fell over and died. I anticipate that I can burn it to disc tonight after getting back from reviewing The Dark Knight on IMAX and getting dinner downtown.

Monk gave me gentle encouragement and tons of great advice this week, not just in buying the components of my new Starcraft II system, but in assembling it last night.

It POSTed on the first try. That just never, ever happens to me.

I've been giving some spare cycles to what to name the damned thing, and a conventional House of Yes moniker is the safe bet simply because I must use "Jackie Two-Point O" at some point in my life. Failing that, this machine is destined to play a lot of Starcraft, so something based in the Zergaverse is apropos.

Monk has a machine he's dubbed Excalibur; since I built this machine with my own two widdle hands I'm thinking that a lightsaber reference might be in order. There are plenty of possibilities. The world is my burrito.
