Dear Everyone: Leave Me Alone
My day began at 6:17 this morning. Jess called. Or, rather, she didn't call me, but her phone did. I let it ring and went back to bed.
An hour later, the NOC started calling. Our datacenter in Ireland was on fire. I got two calls from them and one from my PM in the span of about twenty minutes. This led me to start troubleshooting from home until about 10 AM, when we had our SWAT call and orchestrated a plan of attack to resolve the situation. From there, I showered and went into work.
I didn't get out of work until about 7 PM, at which time I promptly missed my shuttle and had to kill another 20 minutes before I could get home.
It's been a long day, and I've taken a brief break from saving the world in order to eat dinner, drink half a Warsteiner, and play a little GTAIV. I am now preparing to dive back into the fray of fixing DNS and, God help me, I'll enjoy it.
