Who Watches the Watchmen?

As it turns out, I do.

In his WB-sanctioned blog post entitled One Year to Midnight, Zack "I fucked up 300 like nobody's business" Synder posts Watchmen character costumes. The movie has a release date of 2009-03-06, hence the title of his post. The inevitability of this abortion is stomach-churning. The film, it seems, is already "in post" as they say in the biz: principle shooting is over, so now it's up to the editors to splice reel after reel of raw footage together into a fond-memory-raping event centered on a big blue super-being and a sociopath with a blobby face.

Michael Bay knows precisely how to do this.

Looking at these stills, I felt something. At first, it felt really good, but the joy quickly faded and I felt kind of sick. I guess you could compare it to having sex with somebody, and then immediately afterward you find out they butchered all your family pets and fed them to you earlier in the day.

Zack Snyder makes me feel exactly like that.
