On Sympathy

Monk raised an interesting point tonight. "The more vitriol you post on your blog," he said, "the less of a sympathetic character you appear to be."

Let's make one thing perfectly clear right now: I do not want your sympathy. I do not want your pity. I do not feel the need to be proven right, or to feel justified, or vindicated, or at this point even loved by another human being.

It just is. These posts are the factual statements that built up around a diseased relationship, its fiery end, and the bitter ashes of betrayal and despair as I left my life behind and began anew, phoenix-like, in a better part of the world.

I don't want you to feel anything in particular, mostly because I don't really care what you feel. All I want in this life is for bullets to be put through the necessary skulls, and then maybe I can move on.

So I lack your sympathy for wanting this? Tough. I wasn't taking requests.
