John A's Annual Music Review

For years now, John Allison has spent a week or two at the end of December giving his thoughts on various albums of the past year. 2007 is no different, with his top 20 list containing works by Rilo Kiley, Radiohead, and Okkervil River, a group he describes as "shooting for the top, they want hot hits and to go on dates with Parker Posey, Veronica Mars, and Claire from 'Heroes'.... For now they are using metaphors but if they see Parker Posey at a gig it will be 'I wanna lurve you all night baby' in no time."

You can't get music reviews like that in Spin, Rolling Stone, or Cat Fancy. I guarantee it.

Also, it occurs to me that "Cat Fancy" would be a terrific name for a Cat Power fan club.
