Jerks have self-esteem.

I feel that there is something decidedly more to this point, since it is not merely a sense of self-worth to which that all the women flock. It's also some kind of je ne sais quoi that, for lack of a better word, I can only call "super smarminess" or "the sleaze factor". It's embodied, literally, in an overall greasiness combined with a lack of modern fashion sense and usually comes with a mustache.

Oh, how I loathe the mustache.
