On Names and Naming

An interesting question. If your name wasn't your name, what other name would you pick?

This is the sort of question that has almost limitless possibilities, as is evidenced by the people who legally change their names to simple, exotic, or silly things.

I know a guy named "Thomas" who changed his full first name to "Tom". There's a "Zaphod Beeblebrox" in the phone book. I wonder what people would pick if they had to change their name to something else.

I don't know what I would pick for realsies, but since this is just a theoretical exercise, I think I'd settle for "Paul".
