The Great Kubuntu Experiment

Unable to get my Windows XP system straightened out after a few disk diagnostics and a couple of "chkdsk C: /R"s, I diked out the hard drive and replaced it with a Western Digital 160GB EIDE drive I'd purchased just for the express intent of playing with Linux.

Sho' nuff.

So I dropped the 160 gig'er into my machine and threw a copy of Kubuntu 6.06 onto it.

So far, I'm not impressed with the UI as much as I would be with XP or OS X, but the price is right and I can actually get stuff done from time to time. No major complaints thus far.

This probably will not last. 'specially if I have problems getting to my old data on the NTFS partition.
