The Great Kubuntu Experiment Results

Objective: Use Kubuntu as my primary workstation OS.

Status: Failed

Duration: One week

Summary: While Kubuntu was pretty close to the functionality that I needed in an operating system, using it for every need was more painful than reinstalling Windows XP. So that's precisely what I did. I don't feel that this experiment has ended in defeat, since I definitely learned what the state of desktop operating systems is like these days, and I've gotten a fresh XP install out of the deal. I've got SP2 installed, Firefox is working, and I'm downloading update 49 of 65 from Windows Update.

In all, an experience more than an experiment.
