Dude...I Just Put a Hard Drive in the Freezer

Prompted by hearsay from my coworkers regarding the miracles performed by dramatically lowering the temperature of a hard disk drive for a brief period of time, I have taken to putting a disk of mine with a bad SMART status in the ol' icebox for the next half hour.

I'm thinking of calling this a "California datacenter".
