Oregowned Trail

If you played the old MECC game Oregon Trail a few times, you learned to chance fording rivers. It's very fast, very cheap, and very risky. Sooner or later, you'd tip your wagon and lose damned near everything you owned: most of your clothing, most of your bullets, all your food, and oh yeah, your entire family.

This once happened to me at the very first river at the very beginning of the game. It was my first big lesson in cutting my losses and tucking tail. Good times.
