Moving Sunbird Around

Here's a frequently asked question regarding Mozilla Sunbird: "How do I get my damn calendar off my home machine?" Sunbird supports the iCal standard, so you start looking for .ics files.

You're such a loser.

It turns out that Sunbird 0.3-alpha1 uses some new-fangled voodoo: "Sunbird/Calendar use a SQL-based storage mechanism based on SQLite. Local calendar files have the file suffix .sdb and can be found in the profile directory."

Specifically, in the root of your profile directory, look for "storage.sdb". Portable? I have no idea. But if you can get a lock on storage.sdb, you can directly copy it from one Windows install to another and keep all your appointments. Your actual mileage may vary.
