Coincidences happen all the time. This is the entire point of the movie Magnolia. Among other things, the number "82" appears repeatedly throughout the film. In Repo Man, the essence of coincidence is explained with the example phrase "plate of shrimp".

These are both works of fiction, but they're not far off (aside from the rain of frogs or the dead aliens, respectively). There is that odd scenario of the phone ringing just as you are reaching to pick it up. Or, perhaps, you noticed that on the day Apple unveiled its first Intel device, its stock closed at $80.86.

Spooky, huh?
