How Companies Got Their Names

I'll give you two guesses where the name "Hewlett-Packard" came from. If you don't use your second guess, I'll let you spend it on figuring out what the second potential name for Hewlett-Packard was.

If you like knowing how famous entrepreneurs think, you'll enjoy this page of where company names come from.

My favorite? Microsoft cog service Hotmail, which began its life as a free webmail service dubbed "HoTMaiL". The page states that Hotmail was "initially referred to" as HoTMaiL, which makes me feel old because I have always thought of it that way and generally need to force myself to spell it any other way.
