Oh, Goody.

Desolation Jones #4 is out today, according to Warren Ellis. He wrote it, so he ought to know. I haven't been able to find this title anywhere in the Cleveland area, not even by going to the hole-in-the-wall place whose front window is opaque with yellowed posters and, yes, even a Transmet static sticker. The guy behind the counter looks like a CWRU student, and I suppose that if I'd asked for Fantastic Four #55 or a Hawkman collector's edition, he could have hooked me up. But a first-release series involving a probationary British secret-agent-cum-science-experiment pounding the hell out of L. A.'s seamy underside in order to get his hands on some vintage Hitler porn? He had no idea how to help me. He gave me a flyer for a comic trader con in Akron that was happening that weekend.

I'm not driving out to Akron on short-notice to get my Warren Ellis fix when the Internet will suffice. Make no mistake, I'll buy this series when I can find it, but it's not making it easy for me.
