Corpse Bored

Back from seeing Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. If you haven't seen it by now, save your $8 for a better film. I'm specifically thinking of Serenity. (Hey, Tim Burton isn't going to starve because this picture bombs, all right?)

It's a very pretty picture, and technically amazing: stop-motion animation has made leaps and bounds with what they can do. Candles, fires, and moving liquids are all now feasible and they look pretty decent to boot.

But the movie itself was more than a little disappointing and had serious pacing problems. If you liked The Nightmare Before Christmas, go rent The Nightmare Before Christmas. Give Corpse Bride a pass. There's one redeeming feature of this movie and that's that the girls are all racktacular and easy on the eyes:
