Dedicated Web Hosting, In Every Sense of the Word

New Orleans wasn't all just alcohol and beads. Apparently, there used to be a thriving business district or some such. Anyway, there were a variety of web hosting colos, and one of them is still up and running. Employees are living in the building and working to a) stay alive, and b) keep most of their 800,000 websites functioning. They've already had to kill somethingawful.com, and let's face it: that's probably a good thing.

The link directs you to Michael Barnett's blog, wherein he discusses the events around him: the need to find diesel fuel for the generators, getting 25 gallons of water in exchange for hosting another company's server, and what looting looks like. There are pictures and a nifty live webcam on port 88.
