.cat or .xxx?

Which do you think is more necessary? A .cat top-level domain, or a .xxx? Apparently, ICANN thinks the former.

Just about the only thing that truly, truly disappoints me about President Bush's second term is that he and Attorney General Gonzales are so adamant about halting the creation, sale, and ownership of all pornography everywhere that they are, aside from other ways of limiting Americans' freedoms, trying to dissuade ICANN from making the .xxx decision.

Say it with me now, folks: .xxx is a good thing. Good for those who want porn, good for those who don't. The fact that the President explicitly fears .xxx creating a "red-light district on the Internet" shows just how little he understands the situation. Sad.
