Nineteen years after the show went off the air, I read this headline from Reuters: "Transformer seen as cause of San Francisco blast". And the first thing I start thinking is "It was Megatron, right? An Autobot would never do that."

And my guess is, you thought the same thing. I wasn't making a joke. I wasn't being cutesy. A robot cartoon from the 1980s was genuinely the first place I went to in my mind.
