iTMS + Google = Still Too Complicated for My Sister

Apple Bucks Tech Selloff: "According to market chatter, Apple is set to announce a deal with Google calling for Google to offer Apple's iTunes music store through its own site. The rumored deal would pair the nation's leading online music store with its leading search engine."

On Friday evening, I spent about two hours talking my sister down from freaking out over the concept of the MP3. She wants to get into digital music, and it falls unto me to bear this Sisyphean ordeal. Shoot me now. On Saturday, I get home from a viewing of the 1954 animated classic Animal Farm to find I am greeted by two messages on my answering machine from her relating the endless problems she is having. Problems, I remind you, trying to use the most popular program in Apple's history.

This morning, I don't answer the phone when she calls — I'd just gotten out of bed and hadn't had any caffeine yet, so screw it — she has, apparently, started to get it working. Naturally, it is imperative to her that I be told this.

Now, she's my sister, and I love her to the minimum extent required by law, but here's a newsflash: I don't care. I just don't. If you can't figure out iTunes after two hours of coaching, God help ya, you don't deserve to use it.

I'm not so sure how Google is going to jump in bed with iTunes, but unless they make it so easy a moron can use it, I'm going to have to lay low for a few months again.
