Something About Something

Channel 9 is Microsoft's attempt at growing a human side. Robert Scoble is a Longhorn evangelist (Microsoft jargon for "What do we pay you for, anyway?") who basically goes around the campus and films short interviews with complete strangers who make the products you use, and who are working on the products you'll be using next year. Channel 9 videos have introduced you to interesting projects such as Whidbey's XML features, what Monad can do, and, hell, even what Pat the nice van driver looks like.

Channel 9 doesn't completely suck. But what I appreciate about it now is something I've just noticed. It's Channel 9's RSS feed tagline: "Next time your manager comes to you and tells you that you're going to be filming amateur videos, run, run hard and don't look back." It's good to know that Scoble isn't just a corporate shill, he's a corporate shill with an actual sense of humor.
