Why Democrats lose elections

Gai-jin blogger Riding Sun has an interesting post today titled "Why Democrats lose elections". He's just pointing to a post on Kung Fu Monkey, but he's painting a much simpler picture.

His summary: Democrats, by and large, think the American people are too ignorant to solve their own problems, and as a result, Democratic candidates are finding it hard to disguise their contempt, heartfelt and with good intentions, but contempt nonetheless, for middle America when on the campaign trail. He may have a point. Maybe I should consider becoming a Democrat, as I am unquestionably beginning to lose faith that any people, regardless of nationality, are competent.
