TheDenverChannel.com - News - Charter Schools Offer Incentives To Lure Students From Public Schools

Amen. Public schools are, unfortunately, damning our nation's children to greater and greater levels of mediocrity. And it's not the teachers. It's not the students. It's the system. Public schools just don't work. And if the smart kids get hawked by private and charter schools, so be it. It's time to dismantle the public school system and replace it with something better: a school system that cares about returning value to the name of the U. S. diploma, and that fosters learning among smart students. I wish I had this option given to me sooner when I was in public school.

I would never have ended up where I am right now if I hadn't gone to a charter school.

If I had only been able to go to my local public school (which I did for 2 years of high school, only spending the last 2 years at a 'magnet' schoool) I would have certainly ended up working as a cashier of some sort at some restaurant or bookstore.
