"Now watch this drive" Revisited
"The Secret Service did not need to inform President Bush that the White House was being evacuated until after he finished a bike ride because he was not in danger, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said on Thursday."
I think one of the biggest problems of this administration, and Joe Kelley agrees with me, is that the Commander-in-Chief is so heavily isolated from reality that they don't even bother to notify him that his home has been evacuated because he's enjoying a bike ride.
That's right. Gettin' 10K in on the old ten-speed has a higher priority on the President's list than knowing about the safety of his wife and house. And don't think for a second that he doesn't condone this kind of behavior. One word from him about it and the Secret Service would wake him up at 6 in the morning just to let him know the Earth was still turning, if he so desired. So the leader of the free world doesn't care to be disturbed when he's trying to relax. I can't understand that. Tuning out emergencies is not the kind of thing the President should be allowed to do.
Ugh. How aggravating.
