How to Be an Elite Phone Phreak
Never underestimate the power of modifying the value of LHK on a Nortel Meridian PBX switch.
It can make users think you're awesome. Which would be true.
Say a user has three extensions, 1000, 2000, and 3000, all on a 2008 set:
KEY 00 MCR 1000 MARP
KEY 01 SCR 2000 MARP
KEY 02 SCR 3000 MARP
Say, also, that the user has VM on x1000 and x3000, but not on x2000. Callers will get a busy signal calling x3000 if that line is in use. Shouldn't it hunt the extension listed in HUNT? Yes, but only if you've configured HUNT, and even then it's going to HUNT to KEY 01, which doesn't have voicemail.
So modify LHK 1 (or perhaps it's LHK 0) to LHK 2. Problem solved.
If that doesn't up me from 31336 to 31337, nothing will.
