Pinnacles

Sometimes you just look at one period of history, or one invention, and you realize that there was a high water mark, a point of perfection that, though time marches inexorably forward, will never be surpassed.

This pinnacle of achievement appears repeatedly in the annals of time, but I think it can best be summed with one simple phrase: "World War II armored snowmobile".

Forget the golden record. We should've shot one of these fuckers into outer space to let E.T. know we mean business.
